Everyday thousands of young children and families are experiencing the pain and stress caused by the diagnosis of newly discovered medical conditions. The intention that I have for this space is to ensure that the main focus will always be the primary users as it’s vital the space suits all their needs to create a comfortable and safe. This needs to be a centre that is able to advance into the future. As a building still; in development, it is an opportunity to consider how lighting effects the interior spaces as well as the users.

In order to do that, I plan on widening my knowledge in technology to find how these technological advancements will aid my design. To many young children creating a space using bright and bold colours will stimulate this idea of a happy and welcoming space. By using that and bringing in the surroundings of Christchurch and nature, I plan on creating that warm environment, normally missing from medical facilities.
