harbour haven //

Harbour Haven delves into the restoration of a key space in Margate, aiming to further challenge the Slow Tourism concept whilst addressing the community’s goals of re-establishing a thriving creative culture and rebuilding tourism post-COVID.

Through in-depth research, design proposals, and community engagement, the project examines how the restoration of this pivotal site can serve as a catalyst for inspiring future generations and fostering an inclusive creative ecosystem. The initiative seeks to balance heritage conservation with innovative solutions that reflect the town’s unique identity and aspirations.

By prioritising the voices of local artists and residents, the project envisions a space that not only preserves Margate’s cultural legacy but also cultivates opportunities for education, collaboration, and sustainable growth. Ultimately, it aims to contribute to the town’s ongoing efforts to rebuild its economy and solidify its position as a beacon for creativity and community resilience.
