project 08

coastal creatives //

The goal of this research project was to design an inspiring and functional creative space in Margate, tailored for the vibrant community of local artists, with a particular focus on silversmithing. Recognising Margate’s rich cultural heritage and its growing reputation as a hub for creatives, this space aims to foster both personal craftsmanship and collaborative opportunities.

Taking inspiration from the seaside heritage of Margate, the space reflects the classic style of a beach hut, similar to the bathing machines that originated in the town. The designed space, contained in the given dimensions, explored an expandable design to support the individual needs of ones studio space as well larger utilities for a group workshop

This project introduced an opportunity to develop personal software skills to include Rhino, in addition to further exploring a rendering style.
